silence & song

a tangerine sunrise,

a bare closet,

before and after a storm,

seedlings tearing through soil,

steam from my coffee,

fingers folded in prayer.

a nightingale,

notes intermingled,

fire whooshing from ashes,

conversations over tacos,

a newborn weeping,

the saints in worship.

the Voice of Jesus.
